Overview
The turbulent South Fork of the Payette River Canyon, full of wildlife, is the attraction along this route. Rafting, fishing, watching for wildlife and soaking in hot springs are highlights of this drive between Banks and Lowman, north of Boise. It is 33 miles and a one-hour trip. Allow three hours for a round trip from Boise, more in winter when the road typically has a snow floor. Full Services available in Garden Valley and Boise, with limited services in Banks and Lowman.
