Overview
This museum highlights the history of Adams County and the Council area. Adams County developed when gold was discovered in Warren and Florence, and a trail along the Weiser River, through the Council Valley, transported supplies to the mines from the Boise area.
Large, inter-tribal Indian gatherings were once held in the Council Valley. The name Council came from these gatherings held in the area because early pioneers believed they were "council" meetings.
