 Overview
Rapidly becoming a major city in the Pacific Northwest, Boise is currently home to industry giants such as Boise (formerly Boise Cascade), Washington Group International, Micron Technology and Hewlett-Packard. Boise is a great place to visit and enjoy any time of year. Local attractions include the Idaho Capitol Building, Old Penitentiary State Historic Site, Idaho Botanical Garden, Boise River Greenbelt and nearby parks along the river, Idaho Historical Museum, Basque Museum and Cultural Center and World Center for Birds of Prey. Summer invites short float trips on rafts or tubes on the Boise River. During the winter, Nordic and alpine skiing and tubing are only 30 minutes away at Bogus Basin Ski Area.
