Overview
The world-class J. Curtis Earl Arms Exhibit, located within the walls of the Old Idaho Penitentiary, opened in 2002. Admission to the Old Idaho Penitentiary includes access to this exhibit. The exhibit features one of the nation's largest collections of historic arms and military memorabilia. The collection includes Medieval arms and armor, Revolutionary War firearms and swords, Civil War artifacts, and an 1883 Gatling gun on its original carriage. Pistols and rifles of the type used extensively in the West by settlers and lawmen in the nineteenth century, along with rifles, pistols, machine guns, mortars, and cannon from many of the countries involved in World War I and II (U.S., Britain, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan) are also included.
