Icon: OverviewOverview Caldwell, 25 miles west of Boise, is the second largest city in Canyon County. It is home to Albertson College of Idaho, a small liberal arts college. The Jewett Auditorium, Resenthal Gallery of Art and Whitenberger Planetarium are among the highlights on campus. The premier event in Caldwell is the Caldwell Night Rodeo, a western tradition that is held in August every year, "Where the cowboys are the stars." It is ranked nationally in the top 5 outdoor rodeos. Several wineries are close to Caldwell and the Ste. Chappelle WInery is an Idaho favorite. On Sundays in the summer, a concert series features a wide variety of music. Every July the Gene Harris Memorial Concert highlights the season. Visitors can golf at Purple Sage or Fairview Golf Courses, or see a sporting event at the O'Connor Fieldhouse or Simplot Stadium.
